Bloch Performa Stretch Canvas Womens Ballet Flat

The Performa is Bloch's lightest ballet shoe, built for dancers who want the shoe to disappear and let the foot do the work. Soft canvas stretches almost the whole way round the foot, so the shoe moves with you rather than against you.

The upper skips the usual binding and drawstring, so there's nothing pulling across the top of the foot and nothing to distort the line. The under arch sits close to the instep for a clean look on demi pointe.

Split sole pads are shaped for balance. The front pad spreads weight evenly across the metatarsals on demi pointe, and the heel pad cushions landings. Elastic is pre-sewn in an X across the foot, so the shoe is ready to wear straight away, no needle required.

Bloch offers the Performa across a genuine range of skin-tone shades, so dancers don't need to dye canvas to match.

Size and fit

Ballet shoes come in four width fittings, A (narrowest) to D (widest), and most styles offer all four. The Performa is an exception: it comes in B, C and D only. Men's styles typically run B to E.

If you're not sure of your width, most dancers fall into B (average to narrow) or C (average). If you already know you're on the narrow end (A) or the wide end (D), you've likely worn that width before.
