The Bloch Alpha is a highly specialised pointe shoe recommended only for dancers with strong leg and foot muscles. The three quarter cut outsole emphasises the point of contact under the instep, facilitating optimal foot articulation while allowing the heel to arch away from the instep for a beautiful aesthetic line.
The shank has been prepared for the dancer to modify to their desired length. Bloch recommends leaving the inner soft leather board in place for arch comfort. A long vamp supports the foot and prevents it from over arching. The high, wide platform gives maximum balance en pointe, and B paste enables the shoe to mould quickly to the shape of the foot.
